Kasteelresten

In Utrecht zijn resten gevonden van de hoofdpoort van kasteel Vredenburg tijdens archeologisch onderzoek bij de bouwwerkzaamheden van de nieuwe parkeergarage in het stationsgebied. De resten van de fundamenten van de hoofdpoort uit 1529. Het muurwerk wordt in blokken gezaagd en tijdelijk opgeslagen, later worden ze opgenomen in de parkeergarage zodat de resten zichtbaar zijn voor het publiek.

In Utrecht remains of the main gate of castle Vredenburg are found during archaeological research in the construction of the new parking garage in the station area. The remains are the foundations of the main gate dated 1529. The masonry is cut into blocks and temporarily stored, later to be incorporated into the garage so that the remains are visible to the public.
