Bas de Meijer

Als fotograaf ben ik beschikbaar voor het maken van journalistieke en documentaire reportages en portretten voor publicaties. Vanuit het midden van het land reis ik overal heen. Van Maastricht tot Den Helder, van Groningen naar Zeeland, als ik maar mooie foto's mag maken. Fotograferen is meer dan gewoon mijn werk, het is mijn leven. Helemaal als ik mensen mag fotograferen. Dingen ervaren, mensen leren begrijpen, sociale kwesties, ik sta er graag met mijn neus bovenop. Zet mij ergens neer en ik fotografeer, daarbij houd ik uiteraard rekening met de wensen van de opdrachtgever.

Mijn kracht zit in het improviseren. Ter plekke bepalen hoe de foto gaat worden, omgaan met de omstandigheden die ik ergens aantref. Bij mij geen uitgebreide Photoshopmanipulaties. Geen weggeshopte achtergronden, gewoon zoals het ook was. Pure fotografie.

Foto's van mij zijn gepubliceerd in diverse kranten en tijdschriften. Opdrachtgevers zijn onder andere: CNV Vakcentrale, CNV Internationaal, WFA, FBF, Fietsersbond, Berk Accountants, Gemeente Utrecht.

I am available as photographer for reportage, documentary and portrait photography. I am living in the center of The Netherlands and it is very easy to travel around the country and abroad. Photography is more than just a job, it's my way of life. I like photographing people the most. Experience everything, trying to understand people, social issues, I like to be involved.

One of my main efforts is improvising. Just dealing with the situation, that is a great challenge I like to work in. I don't manipulate with Photoshop. It's just the way it was, pure photography.

Photos are published in a lot of newspapers and magazines. Clients are amongst others: CNV Vakcentrale, CNV Internationaal, WFA, FBF, Fietsersbond, Berk Accountants and the City of Utrecht.
